Stanny

We had a great time playing outside today. This morning, we drew a long and winding 'road' on our driveway, the sidewalks and our neighbor's drive. The boys had a fabulous time driving on the road, and I joined in as well on the scooter.

We also spent some time hammering golf tees into the lawn. This is a popular activity here. While we were pulling the tees out, we found a long and rather chunky worm. The boys were fascinated and wanted to take turns holding it. We then found a container and the boys filled it with soil to make a new home for 'Stanny' (named by Callum). Callum in particular enjoyed this. After school, he immediately returned to Stanny's home to look for him and, with the help of our fabulous neighbor Leila, found several friends to keep Stanny company in his new home. Oh, and Stanny also has a baby carrot to munch on if he gets hungry.

We enjoyed a wonderful day out with Grandma and Grandpa today. The day was planned as a celebration for my birthday and we all had a fantastic time.

First, we headed to St. Jacobs for a Maple Sugar Bush to
ur. We rode in a horse-drawn trolley from the market to the sugar bush and back again. The boys loved this; Callum, William and Grandma even sat with the driver on the return trip:

The tour was good, although we really were most interested in the pancakes (which were delicious)! The boys also experienced a ride in a cart pulled by a pony, which is how the local children ride to the school bus.

Following our Sugar Bush tour, we enjoyed a walk through the village and ice cream :)

I think the highlight of the day for the boys was running through the huge mud puddles in the parking lot:
